Twisted Cabaret does the 80's

Anyone that knows me knows that I always enjoy shooting with my dancing friends. Shooting professional dance is the kind of photography they call run and gun photography, but I call it I am here to shoot up the place photography. ;) Every since I met Deniz in January of 2008 I have been following her dance career and she is totally amazing. (I know I said totally, I did title this does the 80’s.) Her newest dance projects “Woman in Dance” and “Twisted Cabaret” along with her Belly Dance Shows are big hits in the Dayton Ohio area. Woman in Dance features ladies in the Dayton, Ohio area with videos and performances; Twisted Cabaret features the ladies from Woman and Dance and also local favorites like the Smag Dance Troupe and Mahoganay Halsten Soule. This past Saturday I got another opportunity to shoot with Twisted Cabaret in a new venue. They did the 80’s right too and not with selecting the most obvious music. The biggest hits of the 80’s along with the most creative and energetic dancing in Dayton performed to a full house. They even had a great guitar solo from David Hurley of Velvet Crush and glorious rock vocals from Kate Hunt-Young. Look for good things in the near future from this troupe. I know the next Twisted Cabaret is planned for Halloween. They will be announcing a venue and times soon. I do so look forward to shooting with them again. I am planning on doing a video interview with Deniz and Qui in the near future. Don’t tell them I want it to be a surprise. ;) Also if I missed anybody in this article I will make it up to you soon. :)
